Weather Policy!
August 11th, 2010 | Published in Match Notices, Training Notices
Hockey is an all-weather sport - and in club hockey training/matches are rarely cancelled due to weather conditions…. generally speaking only snow or ice on the pitch is a reason to cancel…
We will endevor to make the decision regarding training and home friendly matches by 9am - if it is very wet.
If the forecast is for conditions to improve, we will hold off on making a decision for HOME LEAGUE matches until 12 o’clock.
For AWAY games it will be up to the opposing club to make the decision regarding their pitches. SO…please do not assume that because one game is cancelled that all games will be cancelled or that because it is raining that training will be cancelled.
Please feel free to use parental discretion in the event of rain for a training session….. but please, at U14/16 (league teams) do not let your team down if the match or training event is going ahead.
We use the messaging system to cancel matches or training - so it would be appreciated if you could refrain from calling coaches/managers to find out whether training or matches are on. Coaches will be trying to get calls to/from the other clubs and the coaches to make decisions on whether we train/play.
