Almost 100 years of great tradition binds the members of Muckross Hockey Club. We are proud holders of many Senior League, Senior Cups and representations at the European Club Championships.

It is hard to describe what magic bonds a group of people together with such fervour. The early founders were the past pupils of Muckross Park School Donnybrook. However, like all clubs, Muckross now has an open membership and attracts members from all walks of life.

To encourage that strong sense of belonging that is felt amongst our members we now run a very vibrant colts section. We coach these young players to give them extra opportunity to play and enjoy hockey and provide an opportunity to those who attend non-hockey playing schools.

Our current home base is The Teresian School, Donnybrook where we are anchor tenants. Our club house is Kiely’s in Donnybrook, where we meet to hear all the scores and the scandals of the day.

Vital to our success has been the quality of our coaching over many years. Player commitment and loyalty to one another has proved to be a very powerful driving force in maintaining Muckross Hockey Club’s position in Leinster hockey. For many years we were leaders, however, having gone through some doldrums years, we are rebuilding and will be back up there in the very near future

On the social side of the club, we hold a least 2 fund raising events in the year plus other social events just for the fun and camaraderie of the club. At the end of the season we have our annual dinner where the awards for the year are presented i.e. Club Member, Team of the Year, Most Improved Player, Captain of the Year and Goal Scorer of the Year.

Our AGM is held during the month of April each year, where the new committee for the following year is voted in by the members.

Selection takes place every Tuesday night with the help of the coaches, captains and other independent club selectors.
